Airtel VoIP phones
I see a lot of interest on Airtel VoIP. So, tried to find out a bit about when the operator (the biggest GSM provider in India) is planning to launch it to the retail customers.
I have been hearing reports that Airtel has been testing and trying to introduce VoIP services to all their broadband customers especially in the metros. But there have been concerns about the quality I believe. Broadband in India is not really broadband as mentioned many times by GigaOm. And when there are a lot of problems like uptime and illegal providers triggering price wars, I guess, it would some time before retail customers can benefit from the services provided by big operators.
